We have not seen a Salvation Army thrift store since Belize and we instantly enjoyed the change of scenery and the opportunities to lend a hand. Major Edgardo Baolin, his wife Alicia and children Melisa, Jose and Esteban warmly received us and were delighted to hear more about our adventures throughout the Americas. This is a very exciting time for the Salvation Army here in Mendoza, as they have just secured some new land and have plans to build a church, sports field and multi-purpose complex for social support in the community, with a particular focus on teenagers. Construction starts later this year. Our day consisted mostly of sorting and pricing clothes but we also managed to squeeze in a lot of eating delicious food and socializing with this fabulous family. Thank you for a great day and making our volunteer work memorable. Best wishes for your new place.

Part of what we wish to accomplish over the next year is not only the cycling, but also giving back to the communities which we will pass through. Archives
