We moved into Belinda's parents house over the weekend to spend some quality time with them before we leave and also to get ourselves organised in terms of packing all our stuff up. It's great to be here but also rather scary as it means the countdown to our trip is on. Belinda has resigned from the NZ Blood Service with her last day being the 26th June. In typical Roland style he won't finish his Scholarship work until two days before we leave. We have booked our flight to Vancouver for the 5th July. We will stay in Vancouver for a couple of weeks to finalise preparations before we fly to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. We are cycling down to Hamilton this weekend for a practice run and also to see some of Belinda's family and our good friends. We'll let you know how it went next week........
While we were in Australia in April we did get some cycle training in! When we were staying with Daniel and Teressa (my brother and sister-in-law) in Launceston we went out for the morning and cycled to Grindelwald. It's a Swiss village which is a bit random to find in Tasmania but it was a beautiful day. |
