We had a very enjoyable time away for Queen's Birthday Weekend. We cycled from Mercer to Belinda's sister's house in Hamilton on Saturday and then cycled back up Belinda's parent's house on Monday. We totalled approximately 200km over the weekend. Belinda is feeling particularly proud as she cycled using only two gears (the hardest and middle hardest) as she discovered her gears had come uncoiled when we were already on the road. Another bonus is that Belinda didn't cry going up the Bombay Hills although at one point was very close! Mind games at play - Belinda versus hills - arghhhh!
We stayed with Belinda's sister and her family (Rebecca, Mike, Nathanael, Caleb and Mitchell). Highlights included having coffee out with Rebecca, making donuts with Caleb, eating lots of good food made by Rebecca, listening to Mike preach at church, having sound sleeps and playing board games with entire family. We also had the opportunity to have lunch with Emma and Paul. If you ever need a good beetroot and orzo salad recipe you should talk to Emma - Belinda just couldn't get enough of it! And of course we also fitted in time for a board game - Ticket to ride - good fast game (Roland's kind of game).
